Customer Service Representative

As a team member of Bluebird Storage, this position’s primary responsibility is to provide sales and customer service excellence through best practices leading to customer retention, customer loyalty, and a continuous increase in customer satisfaction levels. This includes responsibility for branch operations, team results, team quality, organization, and increasing sales; Call management for incoming and outgoing calls, sales, rent collections and customer service, maintenance of the overall facility, office appearance, and rental unit upkeep.

All team members at Bluebird Self Storage are responsible for ensuring effective team and cross-team communication, project coordination, site management.

Responsibilities Include:

Renting self-storage spaces & selling our store merchandise

Providing great service to new and existing customers

Accepting monthly payments and making bank deposits

Keeping the property and office clean and tidy. You will be able to walk around the property performing lock checks and showing off our units to customers. This isn’t just a desk job.

Other general office duties

Our customers need us on weekends, so you’ve got to work some weekends. But we are as flexible as possible with scheduling to help you achieve a great work-life balance.

Because you’ll need to make bank deposits, you’ll need a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Sorry, but it’s a requirement.

Some of the physical requirements of the job include daily walks of the property, cleaning the units and the property, opening and closing the storage doors (up to 50 lbs), and similar light activities. These are necessary to do this job.

Site Manager

As a team member of Bluebird Storage, this position’s primary responsibility is to lead the team by managing operations and customer service functions. This includes accountability for branch operations, team results, team quality, and increasing sales; Call management for both incoming and outgoing calls, sales, rent collections and customer service, maintenance of overall facility, office appearance, and rental unit upkeep; scheduling.

Other primary duties include: Develop, coach, train, mentor, and manage team members to effectively execute their responsibilities; provide hands-on leadership while performing all team responsibilities (e.g. calls, quotes, sales, facility maintenance, etc.). The site manager leads by example through his/her technical skills, work ethic and experience to: a) develop the team into a high performance, customer focused team; and b) develop each team member’s skills and performance. There is no job too big or too small for a facility manager.

All team members at Bluebird Self Storage are responsible for ensuring effective team and cross-team communication, project coordination, site management.

Responsibilities Include:

Maximize the income potential for the facility in accordance with corporate and team objectives

Supervise duties, delegation, and responsibilities of team members to manage the operation of the facility.

Ensure that calls received from clients or prospective clients are acted upon.

Work with Senior management to prepare contracts for provision of facility services, ie cleaning/maintenance

Work with Senior management to coordinate all repairs, maintenance and renovations carried out at facility and monitor progress and cost of work.

Compile and maintain records on operating expenses and prepare weekly funding reports.

Ability to train and incorporate sales strategies to rent units

Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist will perform a wide range of functions. The role includes work in the areas of on/off-boarding, benefits administration, employee relations/ engagement, recruitment, and occupational health & safety. Bluebird is headquartered in Toronto but this position can be remote or hybrid.

Responsibilities Include:

At least 5 years of HR generalist experience

Certified CHRP or CHRL candidate or in process is an asset

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management

Advanced knowledge of Canadian employment law in all provinces and regulatory compliance is a plus

Effective, clear, and precise English verbal and written communication skills. Strong written communication and French translation skills are a plus.

Experienced in a variety of HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, employee coaching, onboarding, and employee engagement

Experienced in dealing with employee group benefits programs

Support and implement organizational change by working with management to identify business requirements and implement appropriate solutions.

In conjunction with the Talent Acquisition team and the hiring manager, participate in the recruitment process and onboarding process where appropriate.

Good Knowledge of Provincial and Federal employment legislation (e.g.Employment Standards, Human Rights, etc.) and corporate employee policies and guidelines.

Accounts Payable Specialist

Responsibilities Include:

Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.

Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances

Maintaining historical records

Paying employees by verifying expense reports and preparing paychecks

Paying vendors by scheduling payments and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor inquiries regarding finance

Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports

Implement improvements to the payments process

Making sure payables are managed(entered accurately with appropriate approvals) and all vendors are handled with respect and integrity

Process and pay all relevant expense reimbursements, credit card statements, trade payable, and all other payables in line with corporate policy

Manage vendor relations by leading all communication with external stakeholders & manage AP email inbox

Reconcile all relevant sub-ledgers, accounts, and GL’s in accordance with company policies

Validate, record, and make payments to vendors and suppliers

Excellent knowledge and proficiency with management of accounting systems, preferably using Quickbooks products

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role
